As usual it is intersting to see Mr. Harsh Kapoor & his ilks (like Mr. N. Ram of Frontline of India), who think being a leftist/humanright activist means supporting the issues of minorities in India (that I welcome wholeheartedly), and trash any happening in other South Asian countries that they think is not the interests of India and their friends in other South Asian countries. In my long stay in this forum, I have yet to see Mr. Kappor to post a news item on Sri Lankan Tamils plight. Everything what he posts on Sri Lanka echos the voices of Mr. Ram's friends in Sri Lanka. Like Frontline news and views, Mr. Kappor also selectively posts anti- LTTE posts in the name of human rights. Though considering myself a person sitting on the left side of the political spectrum, being not belong to any group nor participate in any political activities, I damn care to comment about LTTE's right leaning philosophy or Mr. Ram's kind of leftist (read "hidden") agenda.

Hence, I never bother to comment anything on Mr. Kapoor's posts. However, regarding his irresponsible post posted on Thu, 19 Jun 2003 (see below), I am pushed to a comment given I found a misleading / mischievious line in it.

As far as I know no person with name "XXXXXXXXXX XXXXYXX" in Germany. I am almost sure of it. If Mr. Kapoor can produce with enough proof there is such a person, I will apologize for the claims and comments I going to make below.

Through the (chain) e-mails, I also got the mail Mr. Kapoor posted here in addition to some news items appeared in The Hindu regarding Mr. Subathiran's assasination. However, I did not sign in this chain mail given that beyond condemning it was and is a condemnable act of violence, I know nothing about who did or why. If the mail originator wanted to use this situation for his own political ventatta (like the way The Hindu colored in its news reporting by V.S. Sambanthan; The Hindu used the phrase "assassinated by the LTTE" under the subheading in its reporting and "allegedly an LTTE sharpshooter" in the news text. Ref.: http://www.hinduonnet.com/2003/06/15/stories/2003061505110100.htm ) by putting his accusation as the found facts, I think this letter is not place for me rendering my (feeble voice raising) name. Hence, I did NOT sign nor forward the mail to anyone. Simply I can not do it for its unproven accusation. My stand would have been the same even if a LTTE member were killed and the opponants of LTTE were accused.

Hence, given the facts, when I see a (misspelled) name (signed as) XXXXXXXXXX XXXXYXX, I felt a little concern over the whole issue. How people are dragged into a situation what they want(ed) to avoid in the first place for the way the issue was presented and twisted.

Hence, been he was the the poster of this lengthy letter with all the names I kindly request Mr. Kapoor to produce a proof for a person with name XXXXXXXXXX XXXXYXX (of Germany) to suport his post in CJESA. If he can not give a proof for this signature, coming from the Sri Lankan Tamil community (and a receiver of this chain mail once before Mr. Kapoor posted here) and using statistics for my rice & curry, I doubt about the probability of another "XXXXXXXXXX XXXXYXX" whose name could appear under this post. If this mailing list CJESA will not recieve a reponse from Mr. Kapoor for my mail, I will simply assume he acted with a hidden agenda that I would beleive nothing less to what I believe that Mr. N. Ram possesses regarding Sri Lankan( Tamil)s.

At the same time, I wish to restate that

1. I condemn the murder of Mr. Subathiran regardless who did it,
2. However, I did not do not sign even a passing chain mail unless I understand what it claims is supported by the facts, not by the emotion and lamentation,
3. I also do not want this reply/feedback of mine to be used by anyone who opposes what the original mailer's point of view as an evidence to disapprove the original mailer's credentials,
4. I will publically apologize to Mr. Kapoor if he proves me wrong, and if the things will be turned out otherwise, I expect him to do the same to me, and
5. Since like every Ks and Rs, I speak and sign for myself; Hence, I will not expect any other to be signed (even from Germany with a typo in the name, and in the ghost mode :-).

Sorry for others for the digression, and a sort of personalised mail to the whole forum. However, I do not want even my friends in this (and in the "signed") mailing list(s) to get confused with the a name. What's in the name? After all, in the issues like this, everything is in the name.
